Hi everyone,

just need quick advise. I have a 94 Ranger in ok shape body wise and wanted to take it in to for body work and paint. My 1994 is a 2wd single cab. There are a few dents and scratches here and there and some rust in the common places but not in too rough shape, but there is some rust building up along the top of the glass and not too sure of how bad the rust build up is under the glass along the pillars as I would have to remove the glass to see. After getting some quotes $2000-3500 for body and paint which I dont want to spend I went on local ads and wreckers to see if I could buy body panels or a parts truck. I found a 2007 fx4 4X4 ext cab with no engine and tranny last week. Body and paint is in excellent condition and can grab the complete truck for $1500 minus the frame, the seller agreed that I could take what ever I wanted as long as I gave him back a rolling frame. I am not 100% sure if all the body panels, cab, and bed will fit on my 1994. I have until tomorrow to decide, I tried going on the forums to see if has been done before but have did not find any solutions, I know some have changed there froont clips and beds but not sure of the cab. Any help or info will be greatly appreciated.

You'd be putting an extended cab onto a shorter single-cab frame, so it would be far from a bolt on procedure - would take a lot of serious custom fabrication to make the cab fit on the frame, and then you'd have to chop about 2 feet out of the front of the bed. I'm not sure if it's even feasable to do all that.
You should be able to swap out the bed and front clip without too much trouble, but the cab, no. I think you're better off trying to find another single cab truck, 93-97 would be best.

i just posted a ?? about this topic ...
i have a 94 ex-cab want to do the same .( newer look )
so ur saying that the newer body will bolt up and the body lines on the side of bed will match the lines on the 94 cab and front fenders? right ...

i know that the cabs for the 80-96 f150s r the same n panels beds interiors ect.
