Cool. I've never heard of anyone successfully completing the swap. Too bad they did'nt include any underhood photos.

Where are the pics?
Didn't think there was room under the ranger hood for an I-5, but I like the idea.

i sent him an email for more information

used a Mercedes trans from a 240D which is a 4 cyl diesel and it bolted right up. No way to attach a t-case though other than a divorced. Yeah my drive shaft is custom built that costs around $800. The other expensive part was the electric fans for in front of the rad. Mounting the engine and trans took some work just getting the positioning right, I ended up doing a 2" body lift in the front to accommodate the tall engine. I used the Mercedes gauges and adapted them to fit in my dash, then wired them to the senders. I originally had the auto trans for the Mercedes donor car in the truck but that quit working so I swapped to a manual. I did have some clearance issues with my tie rods and oil pan, I modified the oil pan to accommodate. There are lots of little things to consider I don't really know how much I spent in total, I guess about $3000 including the price of the donor car ($1100). I would recommend some front suspension upgrade especially in a 4x4, that engine is HEAVY. I was getting 10l to 100km for fuel mileage which I am sure is a little better than a 4cyl Ranger and I am confident it would out pull the big V6 Ranger. You gotta love Diesel for torque and economy.

I don't think their is a diesel motor in there. It would take a lot of fab work to install that motor in the Ranger compartment. My dad had that car and that was a long wide motor and the tranny is completely different the way it is attached to get in under the mounting location of a stock Ranger. Where ate the pictures of the motor installed.......scam city...no pics...no truth.

Oh, wait....I installed an F250 diesel in my Ranger last night and it was a perfect fit with the tranny and all...oooops!!
The pics of the motor swap just wont show up....lol
