Got my old steering box torn apart, cleaned, and painted today. I need to grab a 7/16" drill bit and a 1/4" NPT tap yet. Then just waiting on my complete rebuild kit from RockAuto.

Also finished up my upper/lower inner axle C gussets last night.

is that a stock ranger box? how difficult is it to drill and tap?

Stock ranger box. Including the time it took to clean the housing up and run into town for a 7/16" drill bit and 1/4" NPT tap, around 3 hours. I expect the rebuild kit to take around 2 hours. So roughly 5 hours of slow paced work total. (including the beer)

Woo!! Found a standard bed on CL for $200 rust free with tail gate. Looks like I'll have a bobbed bed after all

That box looks brand new, good work. When do you think you will get the axle under there?

Probably not until this fall. One piece at a time until I have everything. Doing everything right adds up!

Found a saginaw Ford pump with the adapter bracket for $25 delivered. Got it off of a 1978 F150 with a 5.0L
