1993 Splash build

That's about a 4 or 5 foot drop-off right there. And off-camber as hell.

Guys like us get a little bit of a wide berth when it comes to what does and doesn't pass inspection. After that, as long as the five-oh doesn't hassle you, you are good.

I can tell in PA. My F250 failed because the front turn signal lens is cracked and loose. It passed last year in the same condition.

As long as it won't fall out and isn't showing white light when it shouldn't be it shouldn't fail.

A lot of it does depend on how picky the inspector is though.

Just bought a D44 carrier and Power-trax locker. One more step closer to my SAS.

Brad, you say next year, I say the end of this year. At the rate your going, you'll have all the parts in no time :icon_thumby:

Lol yea, my suspension's already set up for it.

Well, I tore my Dana 44 the rest of the way down today. I'm not happy. Turns out this thing had a catastrophic failure at sometime in it's life. Someone completely rebuild the thing with 3.76 gears. They are literally BRAND new.

My problem is, the pumpkin is shot. When the ring gear blew ( I think that's what happened ) it ground into the case. There is an actual HOLE in it. (crack).

What are my options here, Run it like it is, braze the crack, or junk it and find a different one?

Is your rear is running 3.76s too right?

no. I'm running 4.56's. The dana 44 isnt even ready for installation into the truck. I'm just tearing it down.

ohh, resell hahah.
I totally forgot your gathering parts and thought you were talking about a D44 already in.

U should be able to weld it up and it should be fine. it shouldt be any different than triming a axle and welding it back up

See, I think I can, but....The steel's impregnated with gear oil, which makes it a PITA to weld. Plus I cant find ANY nickel rod here in town.

Did you check with GTS? Even if they don't have it I'd think they could get it .
