JKS apparently doesn't make these u-bolt plates anymore. No idea why. They were originally made for a cherokee but work perfectly on a ranger for 3" or 3.25" axle tubes.
Nothing really to update. Got a pair of spindles for the axle.
I've been working on rewiring my house and getting my garage ready for concrete. Seeing as my breaker box almost burned the house down, I'd say that takes precedence over the truck build.
I DO have good news though. The truck's getting a frame off restoration. I bought a parts truck. A pristine 97 extended cab 2wd ranger. The cab has NO dents, and NO rust. Frame's also in perfect shape. Looks like I'm SASing this one instead. Plans are to completely rebuild the drivetrain. The 4.0L will be a factory rebuild with a comp 210 cam, chromoly pushrods from Smith bros (already have them) and hardened rockers from Delta cams (already have them). Tranny will be rebuilt to factory specs other than a shift kit (4R55E from a 97 explorer I got for free 2 days ago). T-case is already rebuilt, sandblasted, and ready to go (1354M). The truck will have a flat bed with an RCI fuel cell.
It's been happening. The cab's off the frame. Axle's 3/4 of the way complete. Motor and tranny still need rebuilt. I'll wheel my white one in the mean time. This will NOT be a fast build.
Yea it's nice lol. I can do all the custom fab work I need w/out the body on like suspension, crossmembers, modifying the engine crossmember, etc. extremely easy.
Pics and new build thread, or is it going be built using this thread? You will like the 95+ firewall/dash/electrical system, far superior to the 93-94's...
