1993 Splash build

I absolutely NEED to get rid of my TTB. Toasted my driver side balljoints, passenger side wheel bearings/spindle, blew ANOTHER Rough Country brake hose (there is nothing rubbing them and they are plenty long enough) and bent a chevy 1 ton T.R.E.

Also went to the KOH Rausch Creek qualifiers yesterday. Jotters hill is absolutely insane now.

Sounds like you play rough lol

So when is that Dana 44 going in?

Sent from my iPhone

Yes I do. TRULY wheeling a D35 TTB is not recommended in my book. I think the D44 is going in sooner than anticipated.

I dont see how the d44 is goin to fix any of those problems.

TRE has nothing to do with the d35
brake hoses have nothing to do with d35
Wheel bearings and ball joints are no better in the d44.

Why not just fix those things and enjoy the summer wheeling it and do your swap at end of summer?

I really reget missing all of last years wheeling cuz I tore my B2 apart so early in the year before my truggy was ready.

Oh I'm not saying I wont fix the D35. It's getting fixed. I enjoy wheeling too much to let it sit while I collect parts. The D44 IS better. The bearings are further apart, bigger and the monobeam doesn't put a constant side load on the bearings. There are also BETTER ball joints out there for the D44 (synergy suspension) whereas you can only rely on moog or spicer b.j.s for the D35 (which haven't lasted me 5 trips)

All in all, I'm going to start collecting parts faster. I can get the swap done in a week with all my parts here. Until then tho, wheel on. :icon_hornsup:

Time to start the swap!!

SAS swap time!

How exactly did you bend the dana 35 beam? Like in what direction.

Im going to be running the same setup as you (starting in the fall) the truck wont see hardcore (usually) wheeling as i have a 97 reg cab that is my winter wheeler and my yota swapped sammi for rocks. But it will be abused and jumped. Im probally going to be plating the beams and all that for fun anyways but id like to know if a truss would be a good idea. Did yours bend rearwards or just twist

Driver side beam bent at the upper balljoint hole. It's slightly twisted, but it also got bent down and back quite a bit.

Not much of an update. But....

Getting the front beam swapped out for the new one this weekend

Just ordered all of my tube inserts for my steering and my radius arms and got a set of small bearing chevy spindles coming from a member over on Pirate.

Not bad...pics? We love pics!
