1993 Splash build

Nice, all the looks of Reid racing without the Reid...LOL

SVT

I suppose a can of paint is cheaper than a set of Reids.lol

^ Damn straight it is.

What's the best (doesnt have to necesarily be the easiest) way to fix a stripped thread for the lower coil bucket in OE ford radius arms?

Drill it out to the next biggest thread...

SVT

Or heli-coil

Sounds like a plan. I have 2 other radius arms, but the they're both bent. The moron who removed my good axle tweaked them all to shit so I can't use them.

where are they bent? if your going to be building an extended set anyways all you need is the very front bit with the c and like 8" of the rest

That's the thing, they're bent right at the head of the radius arm. I tried straightening one, but it's no use.

Post up a pic, I might be able to straighten/use them...

SVT

Definitely not useable SVT. I took a closer look at them and they have hairline cracks in them.

On a side note, I drilled/tapped all 4 lower coil bucket bolt holes out to 1/2-20. All the threads looked a little shitty and I didn't feel like mis-matching bolt sizes. Well worth the extra 1/2 hour of work.

* Odd thing I noticed. One of my radius arms have a thicker flange on them than the other three I have. I never knew there were variations of these arms. The one's almost a 1/4" thicker where the 9/16" bolts go through. I'll try and post some photo's of them later.

EB arms are also diff. The coil bucket holes are closer together. There are also caps with "ears" on the front.

Well, christmas eve was a good one. Got the wedge assembly on the grill and heated it up to 500 degrees. Put the axle outside for a night for it to get cold. Sumbitch slid together with ease. Tacked it together. Photos to follow.

Glad everything is coming together real good!

Thanks bro!

I'm debating on what to use for a carrier. I already have a HD 3.92 + carrier with a Lock-Right but I'm thinking of just getting a Detroit Tru-Trac and calling it a day.

Truetracs are for girls. Put the lock rite in.
