I have a 1993 Ranger Splash installed without AC and was wondering if anyone would know all the parts necessary to put one in. I know about the condenser and compressor, but am wondering if I need a different heater box for example. Also, does anyone know what years are interchangeable with 1993. I believe I can go up to 1996, but not sure how far back I can go. Thanks for any info.

you need to get the heater controls that work the a/c and yes you will have to replace your non-a/c box to one with a/c. plus all the lines.

You can go back at least to 1991. Make sure you get it from the correct engine; some parts from a 4.0L will be different.

Yes, there is a different heater box to make room for the evaporator.

Read the sticky in the A/C forum.

Pretty sure '89-'94 will all interchange.

Midway through 1994 they switched to the R-134A, might be worth trying to find the stuff for that.

Thanks guys. The recommendation on 1994 is a very good idea. Now it's time to hit the junk yards. The sticky in the AC forum is going to be indespensable.
