So while driving down a local 6 lane high way at 80 MPH, the front driver side tire got bored with being attached to the truck. It went flying high up in the air and left me on the side of the road. That is my back story.

I ended up on a flat bed truck for the rest of my ride home. Well when the donk "secured" the truck down, he broke a leaf spring.

I am going to my local Crazy Rays, a fine establishment with lots of quality C4C trucks.

I am going to take some basic measurements on my good leaf spring. Any idea where I should look? I am thinking early 2 door explorers. Maybe some early model rangers. Last time I was there I saw a couple 92 and 93 rangers. And a ton of exploders. Just looking for direction.

I can relate to the tire situation, as I had it happen to me back in 75, I was doin 45mph when the left rear passed me in a 65 VW Bug.

IMO, as to the wrecker guy breakin that spring, I doubt it, if he was crankin down on the suspension to hard, it would of bent before it broke.
I'd say it was on its way out anyways & he saved you from another incident.

I love Crazy Ray's. I must go there about once a week or more. Which one do you go to? I usually go over by Erdman and 40, where the emissions place used to be. They have a great selection of RBVs most of the time. I will be going sometime this week to look for a Gen ll gauge cluster and some other dash parts. As for your springs, get yourself some 64" Chevys. Your broken one is as good an excuse as any.
