I have a 1996 Explorer 5.0 in my Ranger. I have the the PCM harness as wellas the engine harness and under the dash harness. I want to keep it simple so can I use most of the Ranger engine harness?

I would think that keeping things simple would be to use the 5.0l engine harness. You definitely need the 5.0l pcm. You might need to rearrange some wiring for the instrument cluster. But I'm not positive on that.

Have you checked out the engine swap info in our tech articles? Also, check other threads in the engine swaps part of the forum.

Where are you in SC? I'm between Greer and Spartanburg. I'm also a "Southern Yankee" originally from PA.

Here's a picture of mine. Just looking at it, it's not obvious what is holding it there. But it should stay up close to the firewall. I think the white cover piece on the right side might be part of what retains it in this position.

i'm between Greenville and Clemson in Liberty. New PCM is mounted right of center in the firewall. I have a few calls to make but I appreciate yoour input already.
