Ahhhhh, well look at the write up I made for the d-shaft. Although you'll have the same problem I did, having that CVshaft in there... the bolt pattern is TINY on the flanges. You'll have to swap flanges (likely) to the bigger style, or swap the t-case and the pinion flange to get worthwhile u-joints.
Also, no scuffing needed for that undercoating, just splooge it on there.
**edit** Just a bit of friendly advice, dood. Don't drive that thing in primer. I know you're excited, but you'll end up doing more damage. Primer was not deigned to be a topcoat, and is therefore very porous. As weird as it sounds, it will actually suck water in and cause rust underneath of it before the topcoat goes on. That, and it causes poor paint adhesion... look what happened to the GM trucks in the late 80's.
