I have an 88 that was auto, converting it to manual. I have a friend that is parting his 89 and will give me his pedal assembly for a 6 pack. Can I make this work, or do I need an 88 assembly.

If I need an 88 assembly, anyone have a line on one?

'89 pedals will line up with the brake booster bolts but not the upper section. I'm not sure if the dash will fit back over the pedal assembly either... 2nd gen cabs have some extra mounting bolts and stuff to attach the pedals. You may also run into alignment issues with the clutch push rod - I went the other way with one of these ('88 master cylinder/push rod assembly into a '93 Explorer) and the rod was angled so far over that it cracked the master cylinder when I pushed the pedal in.

I guess I would recommend trying the '89 pedal assembly and see if it clears your dash and verify that the clutch push rod works, if so, add some reinforcement at the top and use it... if it won't work, I think I have an '88 pedal assembly in my stash that I can send your way.

I found an 88 at a little mom and pop junkyard about an hour away, as well as a good ms
