I need 1st & 2nd sychro rings for a 1988 Ranger, 4wd, Mitsubishi FM146 tranny; they look identical. I ordered p/n E5TZ-7107-C from eBay but they are 1/3 too large. The orignal rings will almost fit through the ones that came. Can anyone give the correct p/n and/or a source?
I got the E5TZ-7107-C number from a pdf document that covers FM145 / FM146 / FM132.
I just called my mechanic & he says the original rings measure 3-1/8" outside tooth to tooth, the new ones measure 3-5/8".
Assy number is: E87A7003AEA.
Build code: 089042 .

Usually they come with bearing kits... I believe those rings are the same. You may be able to buy them from cobra transmission or motive gear or a few other places separately. I don't have my parts book handy, can't verify that the parts you got are wrong.

you have the right part number for the 1st gear blocker, the 2nd gear blocker is a e5tz-7107b, but only the key width is different, the o.d. is the same.
