Looks dang good!

thanks man, it's turning out way better than i hoped it would. i just wish i had some gas or anti spatter spray. i may hit up a tractor supply this weekend and get some.

we'll see, i've been thinking about it

Nah, leave the top the way it is, that way you don't have to worry about rain, and stuff getting blown in, also if you happen to drive it to the local store, you wont have to worry about some one stealing your stuff.

that's true robert, plus the pollen is awful right now, i dont want it getting all over my stuff.

as far as storage, i'm going to build a lockable metal sliding drawer to house some tools and spare parts

wow i am bored at work today

started looking at the carrier, i think i'm gonna add some bracing with 1/8" plate to carrier....just to make sure it doesnt bend or torque anywhere.

the braces in the middle will add extra support for the highlift mounts

got the latch today, much larger than i thought it was gonna be. still may fab my own, i dont know yet

got some anti spatter spray today, i cant really tell a difference, i guess the welds look a little better....i dont know

added some gussets to the tire carrier, on the bottom of each side

got the hole cut out for the part that actually holds the tire.....i had some oil on the metal and it didnt weld for hit. i'm gonna have to go back and grind them out and re-weld, they look awful up close

i used a gusset i had kicking around from ballistic to brace it, i like it.

went and got a spring and a washer from Ace tonight, i'm gonna try and make this work

i played around with the latch i ordered and i dont think i wanna use it

got the latch done today, works perfectly as it is and it should work even better once it's got a tire on it.

tacked everything together to make sure my idea was gonna work.

figured out why my welds were so shitty yesterday, i was using too much of the anti spatter spray, figured that out and the stuff is working way better now. it does make the welds look a little better. it still spatters a bit though.
