1988 BII Build

this is what i'm planning to add:
carrierlayout.jpg

highlift is gonna be mounted up above the tire carrier, i'll probably use some 1"x1" square tube for that.

then i'll fab up a license plate holder to go on the bottom left of the tire, maybe a gas can somewhere if i can find room.

Just remember, you need tag lights in most states.

i dont know if NC does or not, i'm just going to assume we do. i kept all the wiring from the old lights though. when i said "fab up the mount" in my previous post, it included lighting it somehow. thanks for the reminder though! :icon_cheers:

edit-plus i'm gonna wire up some more reverse lights to go on the bumper or swing out part, we all know how bad the factory lights are (or at least mine are)

rain on your parade?! lol..
just like to remind those simple little things that most people look over... i know i forgot them in my original bumper design....

you have a custom rear bumper too? pics in your build thread?

NO... i'm more worried about transmission and front axle ATM.. i will be building my rear bumper soon.
i wanna do the bottom piece like this

with the upper piece more like yours... simplier! :D
i want the bottom to kinda match my front bumper.

yeah i saw you had some trans issues

i originally wanted to use a 2x4x1/8" wall for my rear bumper (make it basically the same shape) but i didnt find a good metal place until a few weeks ago and i had already built my current one. i like it, but i was really just using what i had, 2x2x1/4" wall.....at least it aint goin anywhere, EVER lol

that's a sweet lookin bumper there. reminds me, i need to add some tow points to mine eventually.

or if you have awesome friends like me. this happens....

he calls me and tells me, i got JUST what you need. won't leave you much extra tho when you're done w/ the 2 front and 2 rear clevis mounts....
this is what i get..

yeah.... i have awesome friends. lol
1 foot square of 1" thick top of the line steel..

yeah i have no friends that are into 4x4's, not like i am at least. they wouldnt build their own stuff.

that's a big ass piece of metal though, DAMN!

go to a construction sit and find some extra i beam chunks i know we have dozens of chunks like that layin around that just end up scrapped 1" thick like that
