1987 ranger 2.3 soon to be turbo

not sure if you need diagrams anymore but here is one for an 87 ranger and an 88 turbo coupe. scott has pretty much covered it for the swap, repinning is really easy just a few wires (at least for the 93) and you just gotta add the VAM and Baro

Did you ever get that swap done?

79-80 2.3t

I have a 1987 Ford Ranger 4x4 with a 2.3, could I use a 79-80 2.3 turbo and change the fuel/air systems to MFI?:icon_welder:

Sure, if you change the head or make a custom intake manifold or fuel rail...

That era 2.3L will be carbureted I believe which will be a different intake pattern than the fuel injected version. If you swap to a head from an injected engine (even from an N/A engine) you would be good to go though, I don't know what those things had for a bottom end though.
