I got a 2004 escape from a family members passing (old age, he lived a good long life). Now I no longer have to DD the ranger soooooo what do I do with it? It's a 87 4x4 manual singlecab regular bed 2.9l.

The options are only limited by your imagination, modification parts availability, and money. You could turn it into a really nice off road rig....

I definitely want to go trail/crawler I'm in nc so not looking to build a pre runner. I've got all the hand tools but no welder or cutting tools so I'm stuck with bolt on parts. I have the first gen ttb so not much to work with.

People have had some good things to say about the first gen TTB. Don't count it out. Check out the forum store for parts ideas. It's a good place to start at least.

I'd keep DDing the Ranger myself.

Read through the forum. Check out the how to tech articles. Check out photos. Pay attention to the trucks you see in your travels.

Then come up with a plan/dream. Figure out what your budget is. We can help from there.

Living in Hickory, you're close to some beautiful mountains with parks and forest roads to wander and explore. Enjoy. We're here to help.
