1986 Ranger Prerunner in NH

Well I'm in NH and it says you're in WI so it would cost a lot to ship. I have a harbor freight in my town. Think I'll just get it there. It will only be $75 with a coupon. So might as well give it a try

Just picked up extended radius arms and 64" leaf springs from juggalomania92 yesterday! Pretty damn excited! Install of front susprension will have to wait till after the weekend though :( Pictures to follow

Love this build! I have an 86 and am definitely thinking about going the prerunner route. Any idea on where those headlights came from? Also those wheels and tires look great.

Honestly I have no clue where the headlights came from. They were on there when I bought it. I'm not a huge fan of them and they don't seem to throw a lot of light. They might be hooked up wrong idk. But I'm taking them off so if you want them I'd sell them. PM me if interested.

Here are the radius arms and leafspring i picked up

Also had the ball joints pressed into the beams! Picking them up tomorrow and begining the install

So the new upper ball joints came with these nuts. I am confused on why they are on there as they dont thread up all the way to the alignment shim. Should I just put the old nuts back on?

Well the front suspension is in!!... for now. Please excuse the crappy old shocks, I plan on doing the f250 shock mount swap soon so those will be gone. I also know I am going to have to fix he positive camber issue but am going to see if the springs settle at all. The brakes are still hanging because they wont reach, I am going to relocate the line on the other side of the coil tower and get extended lines. The stock radius arms are also going to be replaced so dont freak out. Im cleaning up and installing those extended ones and will mount them once I get the time to make a trans mount to match.

I put all the old crap back on because I need to move it into the garage before the snow starts falling. Also I was wicked excited to see how it would sit! Im very happy im making progress buttttt now im not loving how the 30" tires look kinda small but Ill live. Plus it roles!! :yahoo:

Picked this fiberglass 2" cowl hood up sunday on the cheap. Its just for looks for now but I like the idea of a 302 swap later down the road.

How you making out? I wana see that bedcage doing work again soon!

Hey everyone sorry there have not been any updates for a while. Between shoveling snow almost every day this winter and working I wasn't able to wrench on it much. However its finally warming up around here!!! And I have some $$$ save up to put into the truck. I welded in some patches to the floor boards last weekend but still need to finish the drivers side.

The current list of "to-dos" in the next few weeks will be
- Patch all holes in floor and seal with KBS coating
- Install procomp 6" extended brake lines
- Replace body mounts
- tear down rear suspension
- clean/coat back half of frame
- arch 63" leaf pack

I'm feeling motivated so I am going to try and get as much done as I can as soon as I can.

Unfortunatly your bedcage will have to stay in the basement a bit longer. Although I did find some Bilstein 5100 14" travel shocks on CL for $100 guys says they only have 1000miles on them. Part# 33-185576 I'm not sure if those would be too weak for my intended set up. Any thoughts?

Took appart 1 64" spring pack today. Rusted bolts gave me some trouble. Any advice on removing the old bushings?

Well its been a while since I have posted on here. I was not home most of the summer but I finally got to work on the truck again the past few weeks. I installed the new extended brake lines and removed most of the rubberized undercoating so i can apply the KBS Coating outside and in. Lots of work to come! Here is what it looks like, not much has changed haha
