Ok well I have a 1986 Ranger V6 4x4 auto

Well Hopefully some can give me advice

Well we were on the highway doing about 60 now nothing ever went wrong with the truck before untill this so we were driving then is fell like it was dropped in speed then the engine stared to shake real bad the the truck was going back and fourth repeatedly
then is smoked and died

Now it has been sitting since 2005 and only goes 20Mph we also put a new value in

So if some one coulkd give me some advice Thanks

start with getting the codes

try pulling the little vacuum line off the FPR (fuel pressure regulator)....if fuel dribble out, then the FPR needs replaced.

can you be more specific in how it is acting and parts replaced

Well a far as I know it did what I said it did and One value as been replaced

Spark, Fuel and Air.

Which one is missing?

From your symptom, I'd guess fuel pump failure.
Can you hear it run or 2 seconds when you turn the key to Run?
Does fuel spray out of the schraeder valve on the fuel rail, when depressed (like a tire valve)?

What do you mean by a "value"? Fuel injector? A valve somewhere?

Also try what was suggested, could be a number of things. If you're looking for a suggestion on a specific sensor, or an immeadiate solution, you are going to waste a lot of money on good parts. Need to diagnose what the problem is, then fix what it is. Good starting point is checking fuel pressure and checking diagnostic codes from the computer.

Odd that only 1 was replaced...no matter.

just to be clear..this will run but only about 20mph is all you can get out of it.

does it start OK??

when running ...how does it run??? smooth or roough?

Well I need a battery but yes it starts up fine and runs good not rough it will only go 20 and that is when the gas pedal is all the way down

recheck timing
has the filters been replaced?? (both air and fuel)

check for vacuum leaks.

trust it has fresh gas?

That was the first step we was going to do is check the timing Idk about the gas when it was running good there was no Vacuum leaks and I am going to have to figure out to do the computer thing because the nearest auto zone is 20 miles from were I live

Pulling codes from the computer is pretty simple once you get through it, but it can be done at home w/o a code scanner.

If you can't figure it out after getting any codes it may have then I'd highly recomend having it diagnosed by a auto electric shop. I spent hundreds trying to get my 87 running right and finally saw a guy I went to school with who now does mobile diagnostics. He found several problems I probably would have never found and saved me money that I would have spent buying more parts I didn't need.

Well some one told me it might be the fuel pressure regulator could this be it and guess what the dipstick smells like gas
