Ha Ha! I tuned 18 today and for my present, my parents got me Dual Exhaust on my 1999 4.0L. I am so pumped. I sounds awsome. What so some of you guys have for exhaust on your 4.0's? ranger1999xlt

Hey man. Happy 18th birthday! Go out and buy porn, cigarettes and lottery tickets just cause you can. Maybe you'll win the lottery then it'll be a really kickass birthday! What kind of exhaust did you get, what brand? I'm looking into exhausts for my 4.0 but can't decide on which direction to go, money is obviously a factor. Flowmasters are expensive but are they worth it? I've run Gibson in the past which are cheaper and I had good luck with those too.

Its a Flowmaster 40 Series with a dual outlet, they cut behind the catalytic converter and ran dual after the muffler. I will post a video on youtube sometime. It sounds nice!

Happy B-day! I just turned 18 last weekend. Its great but at the same time it sucks, being responsible for everything is depressing and so are draft cards. oh and my first lotto ticket was loser, also depressing. and all I got for my B day was my dad told me I didnt have to pay rent...for now.

Glad you like your exhaust, all I have is a stock muffler thats shot and sounds like crap.

Happy 18th. Just don't go pulling 40 year old, female "cougars" that that you're legal. Haha...

I've got a Borla Turbo XL & a turndown after the cat. It's a mild note, and my folks know whenever I pull up. Louder than stock, but not annoying when you slam the skinny and let it wail. I was gonna go with the Flow 40's cuz I heard good things about them being on the 4.0 OHV V6, but this was a free option from a friend (very pleased though).

Did you want balls loud, semi aggressive, mild, or stock with different piping?

BY THE WAY...you really don't need to go any larger in exhaust diameter than 2.5". Your stock is 2.25 inches before & after the cat. It just becomes ineffective/inefficient for performance, too. You want airflow for horsepower, but you still want backpressure & torque.

Post pics when you do get it. *high fives Ranger1999XLT*
