Hey guys new user here. I picked up a 2005 edge for a beater/extra vehicle. Of course I can't leave things well enough alone so I started looking for cheap wheels and tires.
Every thread I found about wrangler/jeep wheels ended with all users deciding it was a bad idea. I just wanted to post some actual photos of what they look like on a ranger. Most jeep wheels are 5.5" backspacing but the TJ Rubicon "Moab" wheels are 16x8 and 5" backspacing. That's 0.5" more inset than the stock 4.5" BS wheels but due to the extra rim width puts the face of the wheel in the same location as the stock wheels. To make them hubcentric you need 70.5 to 71.3 hubcentric rings. Clearly these won't work on pre-98 rangers unless you bore them out to accept the front hub but on 98+ and 2wd lifted/edge models they will fit fine.
I'll probably end up running a 1" spacer but they look way better than I thought they would. I've got a good inch or more of clearance between the front shock and tire wall, plenty of clearance lock to lock. Tires are 245/75r16.
