so i picked up a decent set of 33's with the F150 bolt pattern, so obviously it doesn't fit. a friend of mine had an 07 wrangler and still had his stocker wheels laying around, but those don't fit either...:bawling: i am now on the hunt for a CHEAP set of 16's they don't have to be pretty. This is for mock up purposes only so see if my truck will fit 33's.

so my question,

What 16inch wheels from other ranger years will fit an 89 4x4 ranger?

Should be good until 1997. XJ rims may fit as well.

most xj rims won't fit the front without drilling out for your front hub...
if you can't find some old stock ones laying around your
best bet, buy some steelies... summit or rough country.

you need something in a 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

The steelies off an XJ have a big enough bore.

true dat... but are the steelies from XJ's 16's? idk...
i just know i have 2 different xj 16's in my yard right now and neither will fit the d28 hub, but they are the alloys, not steelies.

i was hoping to find something for like $50 or $100 bucks... hell these tires were only $20...

I don't really want to buy something new or spend a lot of money, because if 33's fit i will be may be looking to go with 17's or maybe keep my 15's, but i dont want to be locked into 16's...

Not a clue mine came with 15s and I swapped to Ranger alloys.

I called up my local scrap yard and they searched their database and couldn't come up with any 16inch wheels for 89-97. Any idea which other vehicles wheels fit the RBV?

Like from a mustang or a crown Vic or something. I'm just looking for a black Steele wheel on the cheap...

Late model Dodge chargers should be able to snag a set of 16s.

And they're 5x4.5 with the right back spacing and my 4x4 hub will fit through?

The steelies should be the righthubs size. They are 5 on 114 instead of 5 on 114.3, but they do work at least on late models.

theyre kinda tricky to find but explorer sport trac wheels are 16" as well as newer ford rangers. i got 2 sets of 16" wheels, one from a newer (like 02 ranger) that my tractor tires are on, and a set from a sport trac with my street tires on. think i paid 100 bux for the sport trac wheels and 80 for the ranger wheels.

the ranger wheels i got wouldnt fit over my lockout hubs so i had to grind out the centers to fit over them but the sport trac wheels sliped right over. then i just took 2 of the snap on center caps to a buddy with a lathe and cut out the centers to fit over the lockouts.:icon_thumby:

thanks for the info!

I saw a later (rounded body style) crown Vic today wearing 16" ranger/explorer wheels if that's any help to you?

And I have 16" ranger 4x4 wheels on my 2wd 1994 ranger.

Just a couple data points for everyone.....
