16 inch wheels...

I saw a later (rounded body style) crown Vic today wearing 16" ranger/explorer wheels if that's any help to you?

And I have 16" ranger 4x4 wheels on my 2wd 1994 ranger.

Just a couple data points for everyone.....

so that proves that the rangers and crown vics have the same bolt pattern, but im more concerned about the hub hole on the wheel being that my ranger is 4x4 with manual hubs.

Thanks for your observations...

Gary~

I bought the stock 16" rims off a 2000-ish 4WD ranger for $100 and they fit just fine on my 1990 4wd ranger, they even accommodate the manual hubs with no issues. :yahoo:

thanks!

ill look into that!

Steel Crown Vic wheels fit the Ranger (they have the necessary 70.3 mm centerbore). I have a set on my '84 as runners currently. You can use up to '02 CV wheels, in 03 they switched to a high offset wheel and they would tuck way into the wheel wells on your Ranger.

Also, as someone else stated, there are wheels from some '98 plus Rangers and Explorers that fit that are 16". Some of the wheels from
98+ have small centerbores but some have the required 70.3 mm to fit on a TTB Ranger, take a tape measure with to the junkyard and measure them. I've spent so much time looking at them to find 16" wheels that fit TTB hubs that I can look at the wheel design and tell if they'll fit or not. Post a pic of ones you're looking at and I'll tell you if they fit.

i was hoping to find something for like $50 or $100 bucks... hell these tires were only $20...

I don't really want to buy something new or spend a lot of money, because if 33's fit i will be may be looking to go with 17's or maybe keep my 15's, but i dont want to be locked into 16's...

im thinking spam...?

I think you're right, Gary. These spammers are getting more tricky by the day. It's almost as if they know what a car is now.

I've got a lead on some 94 dodge ram wheels. Hopefully they'll fit...

If I've done my research right 94 dodge ram wheels wont, but he advertised them as 5x4.5... another weird thing is on the craigslist add he advertised them as "Dodge Dakota Wheels" then in the body of the add he said they were off a 94 dodge ram, followed by "5x4.5"...

We'll see...
