I want to install a cb radio in my truck should I put the cb radio on a 12v fuse or could I just splice the power running to the headunit in my truck? :icon_confused:

so in other words put the cb radio on its own

where is the circuit

Well there's a few places you could use. I got a cheap thing at advance auto to plug 2 fuses into one spot in the fusebox under the hood. Then i just grounded it to the battery. Its probably a better idea to ground it somewhere else tho.

I heard there is a 12v under the steering column just wondering if maybe someone with my same year has already done it and had picture

Your best bet is just running a fused wire from the batt, otherwise you risk picking up electrical noise from the ignition, fuel pump, alt, or any other electric motor on the truck.

If you are going to be adding a bunch of things IE Lights radio's ect... . This is what you do period. Under your hood next to your electrical managment fused/breaker box you mount a new box... ok it has within it a ground panel that everything you wire up your ground goes to it period. And it is big cabled and tight straight to your NEG. Batt. post. The other is a Pos. panel in that lil box and its all fused for all future accessories that you add, weather it be lights or girls wiggle stuff got it. That connection from the batt. pos. will be fused high enough to blow should you overload what your incoming can handle. In other words that bad boy fuse between your batt and aux fuse panel will save your alternatores life got it. If you are savy enough that main can be shit canned and a breaker can be put in place of the fuse, plugs in exactly the same as a mini fuse its just BI-metal and once it cools it snaps back and you know to turn shit off. Take it from old school dont dick rig on your modern electrical and kill your black box. Same goes for your tunes kiddo straight from the battery but killer fused and or breakered. Good luck, breakers are the charm I should know I have multiple patents and every stereo MFG hates me for it haha. Later you silly taters.... M
