1-Ton of fun

Tried to get out there today, but I had to deal with some snow first..

After that I tried to be productive, but just wasn't happening. But I did figure out that a 2026R tie rod should have enough operating angle at Right side full droop to work with my set-up at the pitman arm. Waiting till Friday then placing another order to RuffStuff and Ballistic for some more parts. And hoping I can sell that 60 in my sig and get my roll cage ordered in

Worked on the dash today for a bit..

Dash stripped down

I am running a 1996 F-series 5.8L with all the wiring harness's. My old rig was a 2003 ranger where I modified the dash harness (from the f-series) to accept and function with the 2003 ranger cluster. I got rid of the cluster on accident, but a explorer is the same.

And progress so far on the Explorer Dash cluster

im diggin it!

Well got my fuel tank mounted in the frame rails, just need to extend the lines about 6"s. Also welded my traction bar brackets to the 14B while the floor was out. I was told today my cage was ordered and I am hoping to see it by next weekend. Should give me plenty of time to wrap up the dash and get it final installed and the int. wiring as well. Then once I get the cage I can finally mount my seats.

Here is the cage, I am trading a D60 for it.

Basically the cage is being bent and cut, assembled and tack'd into a tub, then the tacks are broken and all pieces are labeled then packaged and shipped. I just have to assemble and final weld it. Made from 2 inch .120 wall mild steel tubing and will fit under a factory hard top.

thats bad ass. Especially for the whomping price of a D60

Yeah I bought a IR Titanium 1/2" impact that came with a regulator/dryer for a compressor for free. I then traded the reg./dryer and $250 cash for the D60. I am now trading the D60 for the cage. The cage would cost me $667 to my door if I paid for it. Instead a guy is buying the cage and having it shipped to me in exchange for the 60.

this is thievery I swear! I guess good things come to good people:icon_thumby:

damn! 667 for a D60? wow. I REALLY shouldn't have sold my old F350

And thats on the cheap side of what they normally sell for.

what a moron.... I sold the whole truck running and driving for 1000 bucks. All because i couldnt (wasnt smart enough) to get it smogged out here.

Think I got the dash harness pretty much squared away, Gonna paint the dash tomorrow at work and hopefully get that done and finished aside from the wipers. Laid some paint on the front half of the interior as well, hopefully it will be dry by this time tomorrow.

not leaving the blingy diamond plate eh?
