So I was thinking about it, I think I am going to focus this summer on getting the interior all built (dash ect.) and fix all of my wiring gremlins. I think the SAS will be next summer. But who knows it is all up in that air. I have to come up with ~9000 for school next year hence waiting till summer. All this means though is I will be going a little more extreme on the first go around

take a page outta nathan's book and weld the diffs up front/rear then kick the shit outta it. once it breaks then you have an excuse to start the sas

I don't wanna dump anytime or money into anything but the tons right now. I won't have any money most likely to do any hard wheeling next year. I CAN NOT break this next year so at most it will hit a scenic cruise. I will be able to slowly accumulate parts for the SAS though.

Belt Squeal problems: So my belt was squealing very loud after ~2400 rpm. It started when I put in the new alt. I figured out that it was from the tensioner being bad and the pulley being the wrong one. The belt had about 1/4in hanging off of the pulley. I got a brand new tensioner and pulley and I got them to take the old pulley as credit. now it still squeals but only at ~3500 rpm.

As we speak I am waiting for my brother and his girlfriend to wake up so they can move their her car so I can get in the garage to put my swampers in the rear and the maxxis in the front. I also need to clean the seats and adjust the passenger side shoulder belts.

Got my tools and everything in the truck, its all ready for a trip up into the woods tomorrow. No real offroad trails just rough dirt roads, I have been cooped up in town too much and I need to get out.

Crappy pics of how my tool box straps down and my other tools fit where the jump seats used to be

Just got back from a little jaunt up in the hills, no real trails just some dirt roads. It feels great being out again and I am going to try to make more time to just get out for a while.

I also got a quote from les schwab for two more maxxis bighorns to replace my swampers and it will be about 500 bucks. I think I will do that and use my one good swamper for a spare. It should ride way nicer, be quieter and I will be able to sell the set for more when I do the SAS.

Lol I have one of those in my garage about bald for my old spare. Same size and everything. One of the worst mud tires I've ever own ( when they get that bald, they're all scary to drive on :D )

Yea, they aren't the best but I think a matching set of tires would be worth more than a mismatched set, not to mention these have actually worked pretty darn well for me

LINKY Thinking about raceing, the only plan that would change on the truck would be that I will only be running 37's. Also I would spend more on air bumps, shocks and limit straps

my advice, take it or leave it....get your rig built, get a shit ton of chair time getting to know your rig/working out the kinks, THEN consider racing, or whatever event youre thinking of doing.

It would be for fun, not for money or not for the win. I don't care if I go up and break, it is nothing like desert racing. Also I think I am going radius arms and coilovers. A guy is headed over to buy my explorer springs right now cause he needs to get his jeep together. I will either buy another set or just go radius arms but right now arms sound like a better option

I think that's what is wrong with my truck too, the belt squeals like no other when it is first started in the morning, especially after it has been cold the evening before.

Their site says 170, I pm'ed them a couple of hours ago to see if they could customize it a little and give me a discount
