1 Sexy 91 Race Ranger!

I love my cobra rims lol. Also I think my truck sit about as high as yours right now, a 3/4 drop is want Im trying to do as well.

Yea, should be sweet with it lowered like that!

i dont really like those lowered 2wd rangers. that truck is BEAUTIFUL like she is, one of the best 2wds ive seen. i love the stance she has now i think it makes her look kinda mean, way better than being lowered. just my opinoin though.

Thanks man!! I like how it looks now, but it just bugs me that it looks like a 4x4, and thats not what im trying to have for a truck. I agree on the stance, because the rake of the truck is really good, but that just a little bit lower, not slammed, is what Im looking for.

Nice lookin truck, where in Maine are you? I live in Gorham and I'm moving to South Portland next month, I'd like to see that truck in person sometime if you're not too far away.

Im in Newport, so a little ways north of ya, Im right off the higway in newport. You are more than welcome to come up if ya want! Im pulling the engine out of the ranger and merkur on sunday, should be grilling up some burgers too!

I'm not positive but that looks like an Explorer grill.

You should get a rollpan for the back. Finish it up but let it keep that clean 'no bumper' look.

Yea, the explorer grill does ring a bell from the previous owner. Ill have to check around for an explorer emblem. If I did anything to the rear, it would be a roll pan, but I like the raw look to the back of the truck the way it is too. If I had a rollpan to hold up and see what it looks like, or had someone photoshop a roll pan in my color on, it would prob be easier to make a decision.

hell yeah.. i swear i thought your truck had a 5.0 in it for some reason. now a turbo 5.0 that would be comfortable with 10-12 pounds of boost... that would be something original. the merkurs engine will definitely be a smile maker though

A turbo 5.0 would be cool! I think I would sooner put a volvo head on my engine first for a origionality appeal, than a 5.0 turbo. I have had a bunch of mustangs with 5.0's and thats what everyone wanted me to put into the ranger, but I didnt want to be like every other ranger. Plus that turbo sound just chills me to my soul!!! Boost forever!!!!:headbang:

Looks great, enjoy the build.

You can get fancy aluminum ovals from the Mustang places. Mine says 5.0 instead of Ford...

Give me a little bit I'll to put one on.

Beauty.

I have a 92, with the same interior, and im seriously thinking about some mustang rims.

Couple Questions.

Did the 91 come with a tach?

How hard was it to fit that exploder grill on?

And not really a question, but i have a 12'' lightning audio behind the pass seat. Dont give me that "Only a ten will fit" haha. :]

Yea, thats a stock tach as far as I know. I belive the truck is an xlt, so that might be the model you needed for a tach. If I remember right the explorer grill was a pretty much straight bolt in, but I didnt put it in, so not 100% sure there.

I know there are some 12's that will fit, but the difference is that the 10 is the only one I had laying around that would fit! My kicker L7's will certianly not fit behind the seat.... In the seat mabye..... But that makes it kinda hard to hide the fact that I have a system! lol.

Here you go man, it's awful but it gives you an idea.

That's got to be an Explorer grille, after a little further investigation I would say a 1992 XLT if you want to get a badge.

Awesome man!! Thanks alot!!! The roll pan does look pretty sweet!! That makes me want to get one a little bit more now. I could do either I guess. The pan makes it clean and finished, and the lack of bumper makes it look raw and racey, where you can see the wide tires and rearend.

Its got the looks, now I just need to back it up this weekend with some power!

The grill is from a 91-94 Explorer XLT. It is a straight bolt on (I put a black one on my '90 Ranger). If you want a black grill look for a 90-92 Ranger STX or a 91-94 Explorer Sport (2 Door). If you're looking for a Ford oval for it, check on www.lmctruck.com, I think I saw them on there a while back.

The tach is stock, my Ranger has one and it's an XLT model.

damn! that's a badass Ranger. I think the rollpan would look sick, but it looks great either way.

nice ride man. im more of a lowered guy myself. the ranger i got now is my first lifted truck. my last 97 had a 5.0 in it that i transplanted from an explorer. also, that sway bar in the rear is off an explorer or mountaineer, i know cuz i put one on my last ranger. it really does make a difference in handling and its real easy to install! i think the 3/4 drop will really make her look sweet

No problem man:icon_thumby:

I think that a roll pan wouldn't hide the tires that much, it would just cover the rear crossmember and shackles. Which kind of block your tires a little bit anyways.

Tossed you up for a STOTM nom:D

Awesome mike!!! Thanks alot!!! hopefully I have the turbo in and can actually go and terrorize the rice around here!! Thanks bud!
