2.3 lima 97-down is the same as a 2.5 98-01, only difference being the 2.5 is a stroked 2.3

volvo dual OHC head swap, (not a direct bolt up)

turbo coupe turbo

should give you some ideas

i would like more power from my 2.5 too, but damn! mt may get too expensive, i better save and swap my 2.5 for a v6 or get another ranger and swap a v8...

the 2.5 has plenty enough power, you just have to wind her up real, real hard and keep the revs there!!! and also, a turbo swap isnt as hard as you may think. and in the end, you will have more power form a turbo swap than buying a v8 and rebuilding it into a mild performer.

Yeah... I don't see why everyone thinks they need a 300hp+ vehicle to commute in... I have a 2.5L and it has no problem getting around town... I've never been in a situation where I felt I "needed" more power...

agre with u bean, only real reason is just for stop my brother whipping me with his 3.0, but the 2.5 its just enough for me, since mine is reg cab its a bit lighter than an ext cab and cant compare the mpg with a v6... besides im a bit of heavy foot, so a v6 will be eating my wallet everytime i refill, so im keeping my 2.5, love this engine!! it makes some decent power, i'd rather blow cash doing other stuff to it, in accesories and visual mods than just a thirsty engine. (leather seats and new rims would be better) :D, and like 88gt says, once this thing gets revved up it becomes a whole different animal, at least ti can do some really cool burnouts.

the trick for the 3.0, drop that shifter to first, the when the rpms get real high, go to second, then drive. ive given some cars a run for there money that way in my old 2000 i use to have

a free mod,

remove the snorkel on the airbox/enlarge the air intake hole

mine is 5spd, and already did the intake stuff :D, i removed the silencer, but i was just thinking about making a bigger hole, or at least another hole, it has plenty room for another one, did u feel any gain with that?
