Does any one know how big (amount of amperage) they made alternators that would fit the 2.9 stock brackets?

OR

A higher amperage alternator that will fit with a bracket swap?

I don't need a step by step, just a shove in the right direction.

2.9 amps

The amps on your alternator is 65 amps. From 1990 to 1992 they had an optional 75 amp. Just goggle 2.9 ranger alternator to find aftermarket ones that will fit your truck. I found a 160 amp one for under 150 bucks

Just a thought, but the place I get my alternator parts from can rewind the old alternator to achieve higher output. Do you have a shop locally that you could take it to?

93-96 taurus with a 3.0. you will need the pigtail for the regulator, and something to make a bracket extension from. You will need to swap pulleys as well

When you upgrade the alternator you want to upgrade your wires also to handle the load. Larger lower resistance wires for the battery and good marine battery terminals are nice for adding accessories lights, amp, winch and run them direct off the battery using a relay/s.
