I have a 92 Ranger xlt 2wd. This seems to be a common problem but theres tons of play in the wheel to keep it straight and theres been a couple of times when i hit bumps on the freeway i have to grip the wheel hard to assure it stays straight. I know my ball joints need to be replaced so could that be the issue?or am i looking at another issue to fix

Take it to any frame and axle shop and get a safety check usually for free and they have to tell you all it needs then give them the alignment after you change the parts as a courtesy. They are a little more expensive but do a better job than midas.
