It's not too bad. About the same envelope at my 135 mig, just about twice the height.

I was shopping for an ac/dc tig + mig combo, but to get ac capabilities the cost skyrockets. May as well buy 2 separate machines at that point.

I really want the ability to modify aluminum stuff. Radiators, this fuel cell at some point, turbo piping/intercoolers, etc.. The only way to do is to get after it!

3d printing fun:

Shore A95 TPU, supposedly UV stable.. we'll see.

Starting to really get the itch to get this back on the road

Slow going, but still choochin along. I only get a couple hours after work here and there lately. Should have done this over the winter when I had nothing but time lol.. it was a cold freakkn winter though.

I do not like cutting sheetmetal in general, I'm not good with sheetmetal. This turned out decent enough.

This was just a proof of concept, going to change a couple things. Also going to make a tpu bushing that goes inside of this, along with a top plate to secure it in place. I need to get 3x -6 hoses and the the tank electrical through here. I definitely went overboard with the screws, I won't have that many in the final.

Pick up a used textbook. We had one in high school that let me go from can't draw a straight line to full 3d models of a house and engine block in 1 hour of class a day. (It was supposed to CAD1 and CAD2 from the same book. Those were the final test drawings. I actually completed both courses and spent May hosting a Halo server from the classroom. LOL)

I'm reasonably capable with the large commercial cad programs (as far as home hobbyist type stuff goes).. not a pro, but generally able to get my basic needs done. Most of my frustration is transitioning to freecad and having to figure out their workflow and finding workarounds for things that are much different than onshape/solid works. Freecad 1.1 has been a HUGE improvement though and I've had much better luck getting my ideas down using it lately.

I'm an AutoCAD guy. Been using it since v.2.6 in 1985. The 3d modelling is kinda primitive compared to dedicated programs, but I understand it well and can make just about anything I want with it. Played with Fusion and it was Con-Fusion for a while. Haha.

I taught myself initially on a pirated copy of sw2004 back in the day, so I kinda knew the normal stuff in SW, but I'm not risking pirating it these days, I know they're looking

I REALLY enjoyed using onshape, it is generally a good program. I don't like their business model though. You either get free and everything you make is open to everyone, or it's like $1500/yr and there is nothing in between. I'm not paying 1500/yr for the things I do.

So, forcing myself to learn freecad, and also swapped all my computers over to Linux just to make everything extra fun.
