You can try notifications in your profile.

I'm not sure those can be turned off though... never tried.

I'm trying to figure out who's supposed to be the sensitive one in this conversation.

It doesn’t look like it, but I get that I really do.

I’m Here for the tech, pics and text. All that other fluff,

But then again I come from the forum era that took too long to get people to stop putting what kind of oil filter and windshield wipers They use in their signature, like anybody cares, it’s just shit to scroll past. I’m usually on my phone and half the screen is redundant repetitive nonsense. Yay banners and flags look at me!

I get you. This is one of the best sites for tech and getting help for your RBV.
But...
It's also very social. A lot of members come here to chat and pass the time. Sometimes that sucks as it can derail a fairly serious thread, a lot of the time mine. I put up with it because those same people will bend over backwards to help too.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
A lot of things like that are built into the forum software. It's sometimes a hassle to remove and you have to remember to do it every time the software updates. It's harmless fluff as long as the users have the option to select or deselect it themselves.

Kind of reminded me of achievements in video games I used to play. But as mentioned earlier, yeah, probably some generic software thing that wasn’t paid much attention to because it wasn’t important. Other features were and I am grateful for them. I have been coming here since 2001. It really is the best and most in-depth RBV site there is Keep up the good work!
