mowed today before the next rain hits, was finally dry enough to not have to avoid all the wet spots. Going to toss out some grass seed in the bare areas then roll it, hope we dont get too much rain. Damn deer have made a mud bog out of a couple of spots. Want to make a electric fence- with 120v/15a! Dont know why they cant be happy with the fencerows or fresh seedlings popping up in the fields.

Personally, I hate plastic lattice, but I hate real lattice even more. It always looks great when you put it up, but the real lattice just comes apart too quickly, too often, and in too many ways. I bet you that would be even worse with a couple giant dogs and some little kids. Once you paint the plastic, nobody will ever notice.

Are you using 4 x 4 posts? I had the thought that you could route a channel in the sides of the posts, and then flex the lattice and pop it into that slot. Then you can hold it in place with a few screws from the back.

And I have two thoughts on this. One is to cut your slot 3/4 of an inch from the back of the 4 x 4 posts, and where you need a little resistance from somebody leaning against it or the dogs jumping at it, run a 1 x 2 or a 1 x 3 or whatever, side to side behind the lattice. Paint that 1x green or brown or black, and it will disappear behind the lattice.

The other thought I had was similar. Route the 4 x 4, but instead of routing it down the side, route it down the back corner, just enough for the lattice to sit flush from the back. Then put a few screws in it, and put some kind of cross bracing across it, so it has some strength.

That crossbracing could also be something like EMT conduit with the ends flattened, or a little piece of channel, or whatever. One of my personal favorites is always free, old bed frames….

The bottom, where someone may lean against it will be built heavier because people lean. For continuity, the reenforcing will probably end up going all around the panel edges and places where the panels butt together.

To make room for people to sit and to give the 4X4 up rights some more support, there is going to be additional 4X4 posts attached to provide some backspacing.

Installed right, the panels should hold up pretty well being a fairly solid physical barrier in the dog's face and field of vision should eliminate any issues and it will be tall enough that they can't look up over the lattice.

As far as the plastic over wood, I'm open to whichever I can get in the smaller openings. So far, I've only seen it offered in wood.

As far as children, my daughter pretty much raised her sister that is about 8 years younger than her. So, she has no desire for children. She has been very unambiguous on that opinion.

The plastic cuts very easily on a table saw, with a circular saw, Sabre saw, you just use a high tooth count plywood blade or such and don’t get greedy.

If you do use the wood, after you cut your pieces to size, pry apart all the cross pieces and put in a dime shape dab of weatherproof construction adhesive. It’ll make it 10 times more solid & durable.

i have to put up some lattice too, plastic type though. the neighbor said his grapes are growing and if i want any to put in our back yard. he brought over a cut off piece and said his grandpa used to make wine from them. he said if i put my lattice up, he will come stick some in the ground so it should start growing and i can have grapes too.

that sound cool. more flowery plants that will feed more bees. i would like to get a bee hive somewhere in the backyard and maybe the grape vine would be a good source of food for them. we have an olive tree, two avacado trees, a pecan, and a few oaks so grapes would be awesome. and they would provide some shade from the afternoon sun on the carport that is on the side of the garage where the rv used to be parked.

Eventually there will be the more open type plastic lattice for the boarders of the garden so the climbing plants have something to grow on. I have to finish the retaining wall for the garden first.

A bee hive would be nice but there is the whole girlfriend and neighbor needing an Epipen if they get stung. So, that kind of kills that idea.

Spent the evening and night installing brass weights on the axles, Skid plates and added soft side Velcro to the body mounts to stop the bouncing and vibration echo through the body on the crawler. I still need to do the Maxx Slash body because that one vibrates all the time. Last night I took the Maxx Slash out to the old Price Chopper parking lot and ran a few sets of battery's through it. Man that thing is insane for speed.

I got impressed by the ignorance of people on Facebook with regards to the ranger platform. I know, I really shouldn't have been surprised and shouldn't have bothered responding. This started in regards to someone questioning if he should be posting a 2004+ (based on mirror in pictures) B2300 in a Ranger parts group.

I think you can tell which one it me. Of course no source I can find suggests the history that he is, I even tried his search suggestion. I've followed up by asking him to please provide me with a link to his source as well as a more brief, yet more accurate history on the Ranger, as well as the prior uses of the name plate. I'll share his source if he provides it, I'm sure it'll be good for a laugh either at the source or "Tyler" who completely misunderstood what he read. I think it's more likely that he'll double down with no sources and call me an idiot or troll. That's the way it usually goes when you call someone out as incorrect on Facebook.

If he (or anyone else) can prove him correct, I'll learn something new and admit my mistake.

I am very aware. I alluded to that in my last response. Still can't figure out where he's getting his information. He was nice enough to provide the "the history of the ford ranger" search suggestion, so I tried it in google. Some mentioned the courier, but it was clearly said that it was a different vehicle that was replaced by the ranger. Have no idea where he got the "ugly el camino /ranchero looking thing" idea from or that either "evolved" into a Ranger.

Not been doing good this week, the higher temperatures & my asthma dont go together well, Ive been coughing bad enough that I scheduled a early appointment with my pulmonologist, normally its in august. A med was called in for me and I went right after work. Thought the brake was hanging up again- same wheel I just put a caliper on, sure enough I can leave it in gear with it idling and it doesn’t move. So I get it home & research last night, see a lot about a brake hose failure that doesnt let the fluid go back. $40 for a hose ? went & got it this morning, wasnt too bad to put on. Ford did something stupid with the escape hose to caliper connection. Instead of a banjo bolt style (like Ive seen on every ranger Ive had) this has the hose thread right into the caliper, so if you’re just changing out a caliper you have to turn the caliper out of the hose threads. Its even more difficult to start the hose into the caliper as you turn the heavy caliper. Seemed more difficult to blow air through the old brake hose vs the new one so maybe Ive found the issue. Hope so or the next thing I do is scrap the whole abs system & right from the master cyl to the wheels. abs & tc be damned!
So far it’s working, probably wont drive it again until tuesday.

I worked on my 1985 Century Mustang II. Having some great weather here in NY.. Got the boat and trailer for free 2 years ago, been slowly restoring it back to normalcy. Almost ready to get out. Some after and before photos.
