when i converted my 95 2.3 auto 2wd to standard, i had a problem with the idle being too high. as per advice from those more in the know than me in TRS, i found a ECM from a truck that had a standard in it. problem solved. the speedo and downstream O2 weren't hooked up because connectors weren't right.
this weekend past, i finally finished the wiring; the truck harness has a square connector going to the 44e transmission and i now have a 5MOD. the rear O2 wasn't connected nor was the speedo. i took the old 44e wiring, unwrapped it and cut off the wires that didn't do anything, except one, which came out of the connector and made a u-turn right back in.
now the speedo works
but now the truck doesn't want to idle down when i take my foot off the gas. i can lug the motor down to almost stall rpm's and it will stay down but if i clutch, it stays high rpms
if i drive like granma, sometimes it idles down properly but driving like granma is suicidal in tampa traffic
should i cut that u-turn wire? could this be a throttle positioning sensor?
i'm at a loss asa to what the problem may be. the cel doesn't light up.
thanks in advance for any imput
