Thank you sir!
The black coyote is very rare and considered quite a trophy!
This was the first and only one I have called or seen!

Thanks!
Most are probably in between 50 to 150 yards but I have called them in where they come in behind us as close as 5 foot.

Awesome! Those little buggers are quite a problem, I shoot them whenever I see one hanging around my ranch. That's Texas for ya! :D

Yes sir!
Most of the time the rancher and/or ranch hands are WAY to busy to launch an all out assault and have to hope to get a shot like what you mentioned!

I do it as a hobby but prime predator hunting season is at the same time as deer season so I can't go get on a lease.
So I have an arrangement with some local ranches!
In return for the hunt and access, I provide the ranch with predator control!
It is a win win situation! :icon_thumby:

I enjoy the rush I get when a coyote comes sneaking out of the woods and I KNOW it is hunting me!!
It is a blast!

Funny story, a while back when my grandpa was married his wife has got a coyote and wolf pup and raised them. The coyote ran off and was killed but the wolf named Blue Bell stayed and was the coolest wolf ever, was like my best friend, until she got old and died a few years back. But I always keep a rifle on me, when I'm out on the atv doing work and I see a coyote I can kill it, there very sktzy though and don't really show up that much anymore. Now I see less of them but we're having a skunk invasion. Literally there's about 10 every night, the problem is when you kill them they stink forever.

I have a couple of friends, more like aquaintences, that have raised coyote pups and coydogs. (coyote and dog mix) I don't know if I could ever trust one! They are sneaky!!
The wolf would be real cool to see! Do you have any pics?

I feel for ya on the skunks! Not much you can do!
Some say covered live traps will keep them calm while in the trap and being transported. Then you can dispetch them in water somewhere with out them spraying.
I have not tried this and don't expect to. But I was told about it by someone who said they had.
Good luck and I don't care to see those pics!! ;)

I have 2, but I'll have to dig through the photo album to find them.

I just bought my first bow and am going to try and do a little coyote hunting at my new place. Probably will do nothing but make a fool out of myself but it will be fun.

A coyote bow kill will be tough! Getting it close enough to hit without spooking it with the draw will be difficult!
Good luck!!
