I added a set of Ford mud flaps to my Ranger and recovered the door panel inserts in blue tweed cloth to match the seat.

Did you get the 'official' Ford hardware which supports the mudflaps or Gerry rig something?

I envy those who don't work their trucks and so can have cloth seats and carpets .

Finding a fleet spec. rig like mine that wasn't worked or beat to death is near impossible, I plan to die with this fine little Trucklet .

Many interiors are badly in need of a makeover, those cloth interiors especially. They have absord odors and food spills, often for decades. I noticed this especially on my many journeys to the U Pull. I bought my 2003 just two years ago and noticed the same. Those upholstery cleaning shampoos don't do very well either. I used rubbing alcohol, a sponge, and a stiff bristle brush nstead. It took about 5 passes to get everything out.

The headliner was in terrible shape too. Mine had cigarette burns. After some hunting, I finally got a decent U Pull version for $11.00. Closer inspection showed years of smoke and dust. Rubbing alcohol and a sponge made it clean and smell free again.

I have found several like new cloth seats but filthy either from the junkyard apes or the previous users .

I've had pretty good luck cleaning them but I cannot use an cloth seats nor carpets .

My 2001 Fleet Spec.'s headliner is mouse fur and fairly clean, it too has a couple cigarette burns, when I took the interior apart to install the passenger side grab handle (very nice for my elderly wife to get in with) I noticed the backing is CARDBOARD ! . I looked at a later model truck and they used an ABS panel, I need to get back to hunting and find a nice later model one wit this sturdier panel .

Overall I am *extremely* well pleased with this little truck, I live in the Desert so I hoe it won't rust away before I die .

Thoise headlinbers are expensive, too. I don't think Ford sells replacements either.

I'm lucky in that here in Southern California there are always more than a few Rangers going through the local L.K.Q. self service yards .

My only problem will be finding one without smoke / burns .

I have found an amazing amount of good interior parts like door cards with map pockets, dash binnacle trims with the factory fog lamp switch, a single DC player that until last week worked fine .

I found the factory up graded speakers from an extra cab XLT and grabbed them and the hardware and harness, while I had the interir gutted for cleaning I added them in and have much better sound .

I need to clean the DC player as it got stuck the other day, I was caught in a serious sand storm in Death Valley and am still cleaning fine sand out of every thing / every where .

I tried a factory 6 DC player, it was nice but jammed after two weeks and some of my CD's are impossible to replace why I went with the factory single CD player .

In So. Cal. if you have a decent aftermarket player they'll do more $ damage to your rig stealing it than a new one co$t$ .

I remember one very busy day at the U Pull yard. People were working all around me. I could hear them, but couldn't see them. Suddenly some guy yells out, "Booya!" Everybody laughed out loud. We all know about that glorius moment when "the quest" is finally over.

Keep looking for those extra parts. In time your truck will look showroom new. Frustrating as it is, it's also fun.

They only came with mounting screws. The mud flaps are stiff enough to not need extra support. I just used the wheel lip molding mounting screws to hold the flaps in place, so I didn't even have to drill any holes.

I installed my Ranger Station decal on the brake booster. It fits in well with the other red, white and blue under the hood.
