I am restoring a 1989 Bronco II Eddie Bauer. Here is a pic of it before it got rear-ended. It's primer gray at the moment.
I decided to join because I can not find a OEM fuel pump and sending unit. None of the parts stores or mechanics around here can find them.

I also own a 1994 Ford Ranger STX with the factory lift. I blew up the engine so I am looking for another one currently. Here is a the only photo I could find for now.

There has been a bit of discussion on when Ford switched to the single high pressure in tank pump... from the low pressure in tank and high pressure frame mounted pump. My 86 has the 2 pump system and I'm switching it to a single pump system.

I didn't look hard for an OEM unit but I thought I heard they were hard to find or non existent. I went with after market stuff... including new tank and replacing the lines to my new pump and filter configuration.

Nice pair of trucks you got and...

Welcome to TRS

Being it’s an 89, it should be a single high pressure pump in the tank, no frame rail pump. OEM Motorcraft will likely be near impossible to source. Aftermarket is generally acceptable for them, although I did have a Delphi pump fail in two months once, so anything is possible.

I'm going to replace the tank even though it's only 3 years old, it's already full of rust. Does anyone have an opinion on getting a plastic tank? I heard people are drilling into plastic tanks to steal gas, but that's the only downside I can think of.

Also the part number for the original pump and sending unit is PFS25 Motorcraft. Does anyone have a link or part number to a reputable aftermarket complete sending unit/pump and hanger? Thanks!

They will just drill into a regular tank if they want your gas bad enough.

I would have went plastic tank... but I found a new spectra metal tank for $38... I'm just planning on keeping it full to prevent some condensation. I believe my tank I replaced was the original... it was really bad. So was everything inside of it...

I have two plastic tanks on my F-150. I’m going to put one in my Bronco IIs. My Rangers all have plastic tanks. Here in the rusty steel buckle of the rust belt it’s a wise move

I was going to ask about TRS's opinion on Spectra. I found a complete pump with hanger and sending unit but am unsure about the brand.

Like all new parts these days... most are a total crap shoot.
