Gas in my oil… still

I check my oil after an oil change, ran the truck at idle 3 or 4 times, maybe 30 minutes total, no road time. There is more oil than what I put in, and it smells like gas. I’ve already replaced regulator, all six injectors, upper intake gasket, but same issue. 1993 Ranger with 4.0. Any ideas?

Just because you replaced stuff... it doesn't mean any of it is any good.

I would start with checking fuel pressure.

Keep your mind like an umbrella, it only works if its open... Continually learning.
So how often are you filling up with gas now? How much more oil is there before you started? Another quart? 1/2 quart?

Do you drive quick jaunts so the engine doesn't have time to warm up?

Leaking injector can have fuel leak passed the rings.

If it were coolant... you could see it.

He said it smells like fuel.

I still think fuel pressure is the first thing you check. Usually a leaky/stuck open injector can be seen by the falling fuel pressure when you shut it off.

I will check that next- I diagnosed the bad fuel pump a few months ago by testing the pressure.

Sorry- somehow I’m not getting notifications of this thread, thought nobody cared 😞. Lol . I’ll post photo of fresh oil in a jar soon. It’s dark as heck!

New development today- I installed a cold air intake- the original had a gaping hole in it that I taped up with electrical tape, and the junkyard didn’t turn up a suitable snorkel. I disconnected the battery for a few hours to clear the pcm. Then I started it and ran it awhile. That was yesterday. Today, I pulled the truck out of my working tent after installing drop suspension, and I let it run for a few minutes, maybe 20 minutes. I went inside the truck and noticed the temperature gauge had gone up to the M on normal, I’ve never seen it above “O” the last 15 times I started it. So now it seems it wants to overheat? Still no smoke from exhaust… it’s running in this photo

Sounds crazy, but it looks like another quart, according to the dipstick. Injectors are new. I replaced them when I first suspected that as a problem, along with fpr.

New parts these days just mean new. Doesn't mean they're any good.

I would put a fuel pressure gauge on it... run it... then shut it off and watch the gauge. If it drifts down to zero pressure... I would suspect one or more of your injectors are leaking.
