The reason I ask is that I am loathe to have my local dealer tear apart my dash as, well, I don't have a huge amount of faith in them, and even more because according to the recall letters and documentation I can find, it seems that both of these recalls are to fix mistakes made in previous recalls. 23S08 is to verify if the replacement airbag is upside-down.
What makes it worse is that when I asked at the dealer, they had no appointments for the next 3 weeks, they had no idea how long they would need the truck for, and nobody in the service department had any idea what might be involved, which doesn't inspire confidence.
If it's a non-invasive procedure (endoscope etc) I guess I'll let them check but if it involves tearing the dash out, I'd at least like to find the best dealer for the job.
I saw there was a DO NOT DRIVE recall issued recently, but apparently that is to fix the problems that were addressed in 17S42 and 18S02, which they need to check were done correctly on my truck.
