the dark gray is actually vinyl wrap like used on commercial vehicles. High quality graphics are made of the same stuff. I
It was explained to me that caranuba will dry out the vinyl over a period of time so I use the synthetic type.
As for the plastics and polymer stuff on the outside and tires, I use 303 Aerospace Protectant. It was invented/formulated for rubber/plastic/vinyl only and is great for UV protection. It's pretty much the only protectant I use on our motor home, 2 Subaru's, and the Ranger for all the trip, rubber, and tires. It won't give a "shiny high gloss" finish, more of a dull matt finish, but it's good stuff.
A bit expensive, but much cheaper by the gallon on Amazon. And, a little goes a long way...2-3 sprays on a piece of sponge will do a tire.

303 Aerospace Protectant--Interesting stuff--Looked over few Video reviews, and appears a good choice!! Thanks for the info.:) The "lack" of a shiny high gloss finish, is more what I'm looking for, as a final appearance. It's really about inhibiting the intense UV here in our area.

Well, my 98 is 22 years old. Putting wax on it is like putting lipstick on a pig. LOL!

My 04 Lightning has paint protection and is a garage queen. Haven't waxed it in years and it still shines brightly.

My 07 Mustang has a lot of flat black exterior trim, like a big center hood stripe, and stripes down the side. What can I use to wax that and still keep the black flat? I just bought it in November. I want to wax it, but I don't want to mess up the flat black accents.

Yeah, 303 is a good product. Our rv has many rubber products on the exterior like slide out seals and wipers that are made from rubber. Among the RV crowd, 303 is the preferred product to use.
I have 3 slide outs, and the rubber seals and wipers are in new condition, even though almost 9 years old. I 303 them 3-4 times a year.
On the Ranger and other vehicles, I use a piece of sponge and spray 303 and wipe down all the rubber door seals, under hood rubber/plastic, mirrors, bumper, ect.

Go to any of the "detailer" web sites. Griots Garage and Autogeek. They all make or carry a special "matt detailer" for matt vinyl and paint.

aerospace 303 is my go to for interior detailing. Leaves a nice matte finish. But really makes the grain stand out.

I only use the finest shit i can import from italy. Cannot say the kind as they only sell to exclusive people with exculisvly important cars.

But i can say its $835.87 a can and can only be applied with a softhead tooth brush.

Nothing against meguiars, but I have been using Mother's Wax on mine since I got it, and it has held up a-ok. Once a year I spend a weekend doing the outside by hand. They have a three step system of
1. Pre-Wax cleaner
2. Sealer / Glaze
3. Wax.

Using this with the clay bar they offer, the finish comes out smooth as anything, better than most I have come across.

I use the Carnuba Cleaner Wax when I wash it normally.

They also offer other cleaners, etc. It's all pretty good stuff at a good price.

Got my 303 Areospace Protectant from Amazon yesterday- :icon_thumby: -applied it to the vinyl strips on the front doors, using a sponge, and a lint free cloth to buff/dry excess. The "matte" finish and consistency of the product, is outstanding!!! No streaking. Hoping the level of UV protection is just as good!!!

Will find out this summer!!! :haha:

So I own a Detailing Business. I do paint restoration, luxury details and sealants. I just finished sealing my new Ranger. I use Collonite 845 or Lithium Sealant. They last up to 12 months and are very durable and hydrophobic.
