I've had alot of different Doge trucks over the years. The only one I absolutely hated was the 03. It had more issues than you could believe, My 73,75,77,78,84,90,93, Power wagons, Power rams, Ramchargers and my 14 Fiat Ram is and were damn good trucks some where just off road rigs but they really took a beating and handled being over loaded like a champ. As long as you take care of them they will take care of you.

I loved my 89 ramcharger. The thing was a tank. Got a whopping 6mpg though which is why I dont have it anymore... I was too poor at the time to feed it. I'd love to find a 93 canyon sport.

Those were good looking trucks back then. Nice lines and well proportioned. Bronco's from that era were also nice, but the "Chebbies" were ugly after 1972.
Pretty much all the trucks from that era were good looking as opposed to todays trucks. Seems like todays rigs try to outdo each other with weird flowing body panels, and huge massive grills.
Nothing nicer than a 70 Chevy, a 78-79 Ford, or a 89-90 Dodge as far as looks..
Just my 2 cents worth.

I had a 95 Ram 2500 reg cab/longbox with the 8.0L V10 and 5 speed manual, 4wd. Other then being extremely thirsty (even compared to my 460) it was a good truck for the year or so i had it.

Those V10s pulled like mad. It woulda ripped the guts outta my 460.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
I'm glad you called it a Dodge, Dodge is a vehicle, Ram is a male sheep.
Chrysler Corp basically disappeared when the Germans bought it and dumped it after gutting out what they wanted, now Fiat owns what's left. Fiat lived for years off the Italian taxpayers and then moved their corporate headquarters out of Italy once they started making money so they didn't have to pay Italian taxes. Ungrateful slime. I worked on a bunch of Fiats over the years and couldn't imagine buying anything they built. That being said, a running 4x4 for $2k is a win.

Even when I see a new "Ram" I still call it a Dodge out of habit.
As for Fiat taking over Chrysler...meh !!! Barfo !!!
The newer "little" Jeeps are nothing more than re-bodied Fiat 500 L's with a make believe Jeep name and grill.

Were they the same engines used in the viper?
IIRC the Viper prototype had a cast iron truck V10 in it, for production they made it aluminum. I would imagine they changed the manifolds and tune for more power in the Viper.

Yes and no. The truck used a cast iron block and heads and the viper was all alumimum. The truck V10 also had a more grunt oriented cam/intake/general tune.

But yes the general basis between the two were shared. I dont remember the exact numbers but the truck made the same torque but less HP then the viper at a lower RPM.

Just looked it up....

In 95 the specs were...

Viper- 455HP@5200RPM/490ftlbs@3700RPM.

Ram-
300hp@4100RPM/450ftlbs@2400RPM.

Guess the truck did give up quite a bit to the viper.

Welp, only one thing to do.. 8 inches of lift, wheel spacers, ridiculous wheels, 35 inch low profile tires, and a smoke stack coming out of the bed (doesnt even matter that it's gasoline).. you'll fit right in
In other words, a Bro Dozer. LOL!
