Picture of 302 vs 4.6L for '83-'97 V8 Conversions section
I was reading the V8 Conversion article:
http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/V8Conversions.html
I don't browse the V8 forum enough to know if questions on Mod swaps are an issue, but I found an old picture of a 302 sitting next to a 4.6L that very clearly illustrates how massive that 4.6L really is and with our small engine bays that swap should only be considered by those with previous experience in engines swaps and some serious fabrication skills. I thought it might look good on that page right above the dimensions table.
Picture is from my photobucket, so I guess I technically have rights to it if that matters.
SIDE NOTE: Another good addition to that particular page would be getting a comparison from someone who has done a conversion on both the '83-'89 and '90-'95 (I think the '96+ trucks are pretty self-explanatory with OBD2). I'd like to know some of finer nuances such as wiring differences, any electronics/computer issues specific with the generations (and what V8 motors work with the old OBD1/EEC system), any differences in transmission tunnel, any specific clearance issues, etc. Maybe the V8 swap is done by guys with old beaters mostly, but it would be nice to see a little more information if someone wanted to buy a specific year of Ranger with an intended purpose in mind (such as drag racing, crawling, mudding, etc.) and wanted to know which year/generation is going to work best for what they want to do.
