94 b4000 axle swap/offroad build

Need pics of this destruction!!!!!!!! I was mudding 1st gear 4low and was taking mine to 6000+ rpm and all went well.

i was runnin her pretty hard this weekend, had it around redline for quite some time. hit some bank's pretty hard and never had a stitch of problem's (altho they prolly didnt help the situation at all.

as for just having it done, i still dont like the angle on the front spring's. was debating on making some plate's of the same size spacing them and welding them off the current spring perch to offset the spring to the proper angle. i saw this somewhere.

was gonna snag some carnage pic's (altho not impressive) but ended up spending that time washing and waxing and cleaning it out.

Yeah: You might be a redneck if your truck cannot be driven and you wash and wax it.

but it'll save me a mess in the garage and helped me get reattached to her after leaving it in the driveway last night and coming inside VERY disappointed

what are you lookin for. i have posted alot but they are spread thru the page's. give me an idea of what ya need and i'll snap em. even if it's just front or rear i can go snag some.

Trac bar mount, rad arm mount. Coil buckets...thats about it, and maybe a front and side profile

Anything that will show us how to connect long arms to the axle.

Just seems to make more sence running long arms then the factory arms.

will snag those pics tonight. upper coil bucket's are factory. upper trac bar bracket is jacked but will snag as carnage pic's the lower bracket i'm not happy with but i'll get them all just to give you some idea's

still need to snag pic's of the axle suspension component's for ya'll and the driveshaft carnage. but i snaped some pic's of what I worked on yesterday. guess i'll cover it as I go.

the tracbar bracket was tearing the frame apart. only 1 weld broke but the frame was litterally tearing apart. plan is to plate this entire location with 1/4'' and bolt it and weld it to the frame it will be plated similar to angle iron lapped over it but i'm gonna cutthe patch out of a plate so I can get it to the exact size to cover the entire frame in the troubled area. Still need to do a little more cleaning up and get everything ready for the patch.

And here is the good news of the weekend.

FREEBIES
I was looking for a fullsize spare and happened to find a full set of nearly fullsize spare's

tire's on the truck are 37x14x15 spare's are 37x12.5x15 however i belive due to the narrow rim of the spare the 12.5's are bout 2 inche's taller. might rotate between the two run the icelandic's in the fall winter and spring.(as wheelin buddy's have been callin them) and run the pizza cutter's in the summer. guess time will tell which one's I like better. One of the 12.5's will need to have a tube to run it as there is a small cut in the sidewall.

mine are on the left.

I would run whatever ones have more tread..........but thats just me

also when I do my SAS I think im going to plate the entire front section of the frame

I stilll need to see just how bad my track bar frame mount is flexing and where I need to re-enforce it to stop doing it. May just end up welding the entire thing to my frame but need somebody to be in my truck to turn the steering wheel while Im under it looking at it.

How the heck do you get all these free tires/rims????

Both set's have similar tread. i think i'm gonna run the narrow's since the fattie's worked so well in the snow figure i'll save them for next fall/winter.

as for gettin the tire's and wheel's. dunno how i do it. after i picked up the first set of 37's this winter i started looking for a spare. this weekend I was at a buddy's dirtbike shop and another buddy pulled up with the pictured set in the back of his truck. aparentely he just wanted to throw these on his yota so he could get it in the garage. so all he wanted for them is a matching size set of tire's he didnt care conditon just as long as they held air. so i came home threw a set of 33'' dueler at's on his rim's and both of us were happy. now I just owe him a favor when he call's.

still trying to decide how i plan on mountion the spare . i still want to be able to use the bed but carry a spare and i dont think i will be able to do both. once the ext cab is on this frame i wont have any bedspace to speak of. I kinda wish i could throw it back under the truck since it's at least outta the way there but i dont think it would clear the axle let alone fit between the frame rail's

you could do it the way brayD did his with the swingout carrier, i dunno if this one is his or not but its similar. i think it came off a blazer.

Look's like a B2 tire carrier. i have one that I built for the headache rack and could allways' remount that one without the rack (minor fabbing) but I think i'm I wanna try something different now.

here's some pic's of the axle stuff you wanted. most of this has been posted on this page before but i have nothing better to do so here it is.

this is the arm's mounted to the original d30, axle mount's are extremely similar on the 44 the only difference is the coil is now centered over the axle. ie. axle is forward bout 1.5''

ballistic bracket's welded to angle iron for the frame mount' there are 3 1/2 bolt's thru the bracket angle and frame as well.

and this is the best pic I have of the bracket's on the 44

In a nut shell, i mounted the bracket's to the 44 using as close of the same measurement's as on the 30. i made a few adjustment's to fit the ranger frame better, to fit the axle better and to make thing's line up better.I plan on cuttin the end's off the rusty's arm's and burning in some threaded insert's to run flex joint's as i think they will accomodate the misalignment better. as of right now the bushing's in the end's of the arm's dont seem to last very long. dosnt matter if there rubber or polly. and i'm pretty sure it's due to the fact that the arm's are mounted to the frame narrower than the jeep mount's
i'm not sure on this but it's my theory.
