disciplerocks's B2 build thread

I am having a hell of a time getting my clutch line into the new slave cylinder.

And :thefinger: an e-fan

Try taking the little white ring off to put it in and make sure there isnt any dirt or crud in it anywhere.

Alrighty, I had the same problem. 88-92 slave/master/line are one style, they changed it in 93 IIRC. The early line will not fit into a late slave, and vice versa. If your new slave has a gold (or greenish) colored receptacle, you need a late style line. If it is not gold/greenish, you need the early line. :icon_cheers:

Hey Dustin,
Can't remember, why'd ya replace the 2.9?
Mines got the same thing in it and with the body off right now I'm kind of contemplating a 5.0 now since it would be so much easier!

Sheet that would be it since I ordered all my 4.0 stuff for a 94. Guess I need to track down a 92+ line.

Made an attempt to start it today. No dice. The transmission wiring is not done. Don't think that would affect it starting. And I jumped the solenoid to turn it over since I can't push in my clutch. Would I still need to bypass the clutch switch to do this?

It also seems to be getting in a slight bind when turning over. Not sure why.

define getting in a bind?

It doesn't turn freely. It turns 3/4th the way free, then slows down for the last 1/4th. Battery was real low too when attempting this.

Do you have the Trans in neutral ?????

Robert

Its a manual so if it wasn't, I would have ran over myself.

id throw a charger on it and try, just sounds like a weak battery to me or a starter taking a shit

Starter looked fairly new. At least it was a ton cleaner than everything else on the damn motor.

I also had a problem figuring out the nuetral safety switch wiring. Since the donor was an auto and I am using a manual, I am not sure if I have them spliced correctly. Again I dont know if this would cause an issue with starting. Tomorrow I'll check for fuel and spark before tearing back into the wiring.

if the nss was wrong it wont turn over at the key, but you said you jumped the cyl. so that could be it

I'll go over that again tomorrow.

The clutch line is really starting to bother me now. I don't have any way to get ahold of a 93-94 line. I tried seeing if a new master cylinder would come with one, but they don't. I reall don't want to have to drop the tranny and replace the brand new slave with a different one.

you need one from a 93-94 expo?, there just so happens to be one at lanes here in owensboro. me and greg found it last weekend

Ok here is the Stonecrusher arms.
