Gt-12

lol topher!

another interesting point about that-normally the gas pedal is well to the right of the steering column, with the brake slightly to the right.on this one the gas pedal is slightly to the left of the column, and the brake well to the left.

this thing needs to be driven in a very unnatural position.

i'm thinking you're going to be driving this car sideways a lot... and even when you're not driving sideways, you're still driving sideways...

you would think when the engineers went "hmm there isn't enough room for the seats in this car" the first thought would be make it slightly wider, not give you half a seat...

it's british.

things are done a little different there:D

Remember, these are the same people that had a parliarment building so small that their members had to take turns because they couldn't all fit. Then when it burned down they rebuilt it just as small

It's a one cheek seat, I don't see the problem.

as long as i maintain my slim,boyish figure....it's not a problem:icon_thumby:

and i always seem to drive on a bit of a lean anyway.

i just googled it today to see what it was made out of since all the rappers sing about it, and its some nasty shit. the guy who invented it (in the 60s according to wiki), dj screw, died from drinking too strong of a dose of his own purple concoction.

here you can see the difference between the old firewall and the new one.the part that wraps around the engine is 5'' wider now.much more room to get hands into the header bolts.

since the wheel tubs are finished, there's no need to have the form hanging around anymore.so it's being repurposed as home heating fuel.

and now i get to start on the next bit of woodwork.this will become a station buck for the trans tunnel.

Wow! that's one impressive piece of work.

it's getting there.i still need to finish the right side end cap, some bracing for the master cylinder, and the tunnel flange.the need for it to be removeable has upped the challenge some.(i'm assuming you're talking about the firewall)

gt6005-44.jpg

here's a pic of how the left end cap is held on.i used a double row of countersunk stainless screws and a strip of 1/8 aluminum on the backside tapped for them.this gives a clean, flush joint.the cap attaches to the kick panel on the car's body, but is removeable to allow the firewall to be removed.

and the station buck for the trans tunnel.all it needs to be is a representation of the profile at specific spots(stations)along the length.this will be used to determine the templates for the aluminum and check the fit of the final parts, but nothing will be hammered or formed on it so it doesn't need to be as robust as the wheel tub forms were.

another view of the buck.this covers the whole tunnel from the firewall to the rear diff flange.it's 4' long.

Holy hell... I think i may be slightly crosseyed and definitely have an eye twitch after reading through this entire thread, but well worth it. Car looks awesome. I can't wait to see video of this thing tearing up the streets. May I suggest investing in some narrow driving shoes? lol

Awesome work Gwaii
