Kyle M's Ranger Rebuild

Shit yeah. This is turning out awesome Kyle. Great job.

What'd you do about the lower fender mount (near the front of the door). I assume you had to cut it off.

look good man, pics of the mounting/plating?

I like the sliders, how did you mount them to the frame?

Thanks! I welded them

Thanks! I left the bottom of the fender long, then bent it under and used a couple self tappers for now. Turned out pretty well, but if I get the ambition I will drill a hole, add a clip on nut (like factory) and bolt it. The bottom of the box was done basically the same way.

I will post some when I am done, I think I am going to gusset them yet. I didn't end of plating the frame. Got looking around at how other did it and they just welded to the frame. I figure it is strong enough for what I am doing.

Thanks!

Gonna go out and make a flag mount, maybe start something with a front bumper...

Time for a new bumper. The factory one serves no purpose and I need some recovery points, so here is the start. 2x3x 1/4" wall tube, frame notched to fit and welded in. Then I put on the stinger, gotta have it. The stinger is off of the old bumper, trying to work it in, but I might just make a new one....this one is kinda mess up.

Still have a ways to go, think I am gonna tie the stinger into the shock hoops. Still need to make a flag mount....

cut your front header panel like i did mine, gives ya an extra half inch of clearance and less to paint...

Yeah, guess we will see. I kinda like the flat bottom.

Now if everyone will quit flaking out on me and go wheelin with me.......I might as well sell it if I am never going to wheel it!

Gonna have to look into local wheeling groups cus I am sick of waiting for others and I don't wanna go alone!

Sweetness to the max!

Worked on the bumper more till I ran out of tube...

Gonna run some tube into the grill and attach it to the hoops, run another cross car inside of the hoop, add some shackle hangers and maybe a winch plate of some sort.

I'll go wheeling with you if you were closer. I have the same problem, no one wants to beat on their nice trucks but they don't have a problem playing in the mud... :icon_confused:

its funny....any of us who ACTUALLY wheel would rather a LOW and wide stanced truck....thats how you tell the real wheelers from the posers...

not to call you out but thsi is a false statement. i agree on most trucks rediculosly jacked up are posers, but specificly in snow, height is a good thing. for all the snow wheelin ive done i wish i had another foot of ground clearance. getting hung up in snow from the front bumper to the back is a pita lol
