and there she is-2.9,dual transmissions,spicer 20 t-case,custom d50 front,full float 9" rear.
by this time i had come up with some 35s and formed up a bit of an exo cage,as well as some aluminum bed rail caps.

sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttt...... like i said gwaii, junkyard wars, lol :icon_cheers:

Nice, I might borrow your 91025 idea, I like it!!:icon_thumby:

borrow away....if there's anything here that can be of use to someone else,it's a good thing.
one little detail about that-the 10.25 has one short axle and one longer one.if you use two short ones you can cut about 3 1/2" from the width.also, since the 9" carrier is narrower than the 10.25,you cut out about another 1 1/2".
if you don't want to weld in the side gears like i did,35 spline 9" carriers are easy enough to get-i was just working on a budget of no dollars.

in this pic you can see where the gas tank ended up after doing the tranny install.it's the stock ranger tank,i just formed up an aluminum cover to dress it up.
also note the holes in the box where the cage rails go through-these are bolted directly to the top of the frame rail.

the diff in the back is one i built for an sas on a late 80's nissan.

this one shows the front suspension well.note that the tie rod ends have been relocated to the top of the knuckle.this makes it unnesessary to use a drop pitman on smaller lifts.

not even junkyard-those diffs came from the dump:icon_hornsup:

junkyard would have wanted $500 for that stuff.

guess you just gotta know where to look, post some more pics!!!

as i had mentioned earlier, after destroying the 2.3 and two 2.9s,i was ready to go to something bigger.

heres the last time it would see less than 8 cylinders.you can see on the rad support the results of many severe beatings.the headlights are not exactly looking like the day it came from the factory.

Awesome build! And awesome AMC eagle in the background of the one pic...I love those things..

i had a lot of fun with that eagle, built a lot of stuff for it,wheeled the hell out of it too.

got this from an 87 f150 to toss into the little beasty.

the lump sitting behind the engine is an overdrive gear splitter.thought about using it,but with 3.50 gears and 35" tires, the last thing i needed was overdrive.
what i did need was underdrive,and as stated earlier,i had become addicted to multiple transmissions.i had a t18 2wd 4 speed,and an np435 4wd 4 speed,as well as an np 205 t-case,so i figured i would combine them for this truck.

once i had the engine into the bay,i could see there would be a problem with the intake.theres lots of room at the back of the ranger engine bay,but it tapers down pretty good at the front.this is where the highest point on this intake setup is,so unless i got into serious crossmember surgery,it would not clear the hood.since the crossmember is what the front suspension is attatched to,this was not practical.besides,it was easy enough to get a 4bbl manifold for it and just go carb.
after this point i guess i didn't take any pics of the engine,as there are none in my collection.

this is the trans set.at this time i was just using two regular shifters, one for each 4 speed,as well as the t-case shifter.as you can see, lifting this big lump of iron into place was a production, especially on a sloping driveway.

at some point in all this i bought this thing.79 bronco, with a 460 and 40" swampers.got it mostly because of the tires.once i cleaned it up real good i could see it was rusted out much worse than i had previously thought.too bad.
