Picture diary of a 4X4 RCD to Dixon Brothers LT Conversion

I have a bolt on rear bumper/tire carrier. Bolts to the last bed bolts and where the tail gate goes, then the tire goes in and a strap holds it. I'm moving to Phoenix soon if you want it.

I am looking to do dual standup spares because I need the weight behind the axle. I would definately be interested in seeing your bumper/tire carrier. If the price is right, it might make for a good temporary solution.

so is your bedrack still going to work with the rear shocks in i was loving the rack

I have abandoned the bedrack. It is sitting in my garage collecting dust. I wish that I could find a good home for it. I have tried the classifieds but everyone that shows interest live too far away to make it a realistic transaction.

It's mild steel I believe. Looks to be 1.5" I didn't build it, the guy I bought my rear fenders off of did. I got it off dezertrangers. Works great tho, can actually see out the rear view lol

i love this build i like how you did the bed cage its awsome to see someone building a prerunner and keeping as much bed space as possible thats what i want to do someday.

It was a one off wilderness rack that I designed. It works great, but it does not meet my needs any more. So... it is sitting in my garage looking for a new home. It has side mounted lights, a high lift mount, a 35" spare tire mount and a removable gear basket.

Added a rear bumper/tire carrier

Time for an update:

I added a rear tire carrier/bumper. The weight of 40'+ of tubing and 2-35" spares makes a huge difference in getting the rear end to cycle properly. I think it turned out pretty good. The design will allow for me to use the full bed if necessary (minus the spares of course).

Next up 20MM ammo cans as tool/equipment boxes...

Finally got around to replacing the 60/40 split bench with a pair of Mastercraft Baja RS reclining suspension seats. Seats are mounted on a pair of Explorer Sport sliders for now.

Holy crap man! That things amazing! Is it bad that im crazy jealous? haha.

hey man your truck is so kick ass man i had a thought the other day do you think it would be possible to ever mix the LT Dixon kit with the RCD suspension lift kit? or do you think that would be a nightmare for your suspension geometry?

bad ass truck bro give me bad ideas haha ive go 550hp n/a 347 whit a fogger liying on the engine stand you truck would make a nice home for it haha or my dart base turbo 317ci umm wife would kill me if i was to get another toy :icon_hornsup:

Your truck is looking great Matt! I wish I was there to help you put it together. I bet those seats are comfy. Are you going to put in a center console? Gone to any races lately?

Thanks. RCD and DBR would be possible but not desirable. I had the same thought when I first started the conversion. The biggest problem to that approach, in my opinion, would be that you do not want a high center of gravity in a LT desert truck.

Mine needs an engine swap, but it will be a while. I am currently considering an LS engine as a possibility.

Seats are great, just a bit difficult to get in and out of. Center console may be added later. I am kind of liking the feel of the interior without one right now. I was supposed to be at the Vegas to Reno race this weekend with Szlauko, but had to miss it because of work commitments. Last I checked he was running first in his class.
