need quick help please!

oh yeah. 94 bucks for semi metallic pads and oe rotors. not too bad if you ask me

^^^ Not necessarily. That's assuming he has a D35. Maybe has the 28, you never know with those trucks.

Yeah like Sasquatch said, no D28 at all in a '92.
Gearing doesn't matter. The AutoZone guy is just being an AutoZone guy....stupid.

Have the moron compare part numbers between the "non-3.45" and the "3.45". They will be the same.
They will be different. "3.45" will get you rotors for an axle that does not exist in any Ranger after 1990.

Correct me if im wrong but even if he has a d28/35 hybrid, wouldn't the spindles be the same and inreturn the brakes ect all be the same? I always say the autoparts counter guys are there for the fact that they could never make it wrenching on anything, man some of those goons are so stupid i question if they even know how to put oil in a vehicle. lol

The "hybrid" D28 does infact use all the same parts (outside of the diff) as the real D35. So to say you have 3.45 gears even if you actually do, STILL gets you the wrong parts.

Pretty crazy huh? And yet these glaring errors have been in most chain-store computer systems for what, 20 years now?
Another one is rear axle bearings and seals for the 8.8", You have to lie to them it's a 7.5" before you'll actually get the correct parts.

Like said, calling your '91-'94 front axle an Explorer axle of the same year will avoid you having to jump through these unneeded hoops some moron has created.

well thats a load of shit. ill make sure to post as soon as i get to working on the brakes and compare rotors. what would happen if i use the smaller rotor?

this is the old D35 Vs D28 Vs D28/35 Hybred issue.

a 1992 can ONLY have a "real" dana35 so the 3.45 vs Non-3.45 isn't an issue. (the "Hybred" didn't exsist until the 1993 models)

this issue was created because of Stupid people at Dana or Ford who decided to refer to the D28/35 "Hybred" as simply "D28" and confusing the issue.

you don't have 3.45's because on other than a 2wd Ranger 3.45's weren't available in 1991 or 1992

OK?

i have the 3.45.. i got the 3.45 rotors and they were the same size as the ones i took off.

IIRC, the bore for the bearings is what's different.

Does your axle have 10 bolts or 12 bolts on the front of the differential?
