Why ford is dissing the ranger

Every gas station here I've seen has diesel fuel!

Seems they just need to add it to where the highest concentration of people is then. The Northeast.

you know for the amount of diesel pick ups and diesel volkswagens running around the NE ...... you would think diesel would be easier to find off the interstate.....

You're a lucky man. I haul fuel around NY and western PA and only a small percentage carry diesel unless you are right at a Thruway exit.

I was back there last summer for my wife's family funeral and borrowed a diesel truck, Every station we stopped at had diesel fuel save 1

I wish it was. It's soooo much easier to drop than gasoline. No vapor recovery needed.

I searched the internet for problems with their tractors and found nothing but praise. Since this thread started I called my Bro In Law and asked him about them. HE said many of the farmers around him use them and have ZERO problems other than normal wear and tear. His farm sold last year or he said he would be replacing his Deere equipment with them.

Must be small farms, I don't think they make anything over 100hp, the biggest one on their website is 83hp. The John Deere 4010 had about that much hp in 1961 and hp for row crop tractors has drastically gone up from there. With the closest dealership over 2 hours away in Missouri, even AGCO has more equipment in the fields around here than Mahindra. Nobody comes in to get parts for them and I don't know of anyone that even owns one... and I am a parts person at a tractor repair shop. Deere and CNH rule the roost around here...

IMO they are an odds and ends tractor for acreage people, nobody really farms with them because it would take much longer than doing it with a full size tractor... and when you are farming time is money.

You are then a contortionist or a liar. It's ok. Many people will try to carry a lie on to the end rather than admit they didn't think something through. We have come to expect it.

You seem like the type of person to search for people's mistakes and point them out. Thats a bit of business that usually tends to leave people with not too many friends. Ambitious eh? lol. Anyways though, I just want to point out that I've rode in the extended portion of the cab of the ford ranger comfortably for 1-2 hours along with a driver who is quite hefty and two others of quite good size sitting in the other passenger sections. Everyone was comfortable. (I'm 6'8"). As stated above in the thread though, if they bring that to America, they must realize that consumers here tend to purchase vehicles more focused on looks rather than logic. (even though consumers are getting smarter, this is just how it goes.) If they change the body style alot more, and make it more aerodynamic.... I might consider it. My Mazda is getting about 26 to 27 MPGs though so... ya.

Oh ya, I just did alotta looking at it. I bet they don't make those numbers with the 2.2.

100hp......... seriously, no wonder I've never heard of one.

We have a few tractors in the 80hp range........ but their hydraulics are too weak to even push most of our equipment so we bring in a "real tractor" raise augers, set everything hydraulicly......... take them to the field, and let the little tractors run PTO shafts and such. a tractor that small can run a hay tetter........ a hay rake if your very very patient, but no way I'd try to pull a 30ft disk......... a hay bailer, planter, or even a 16ft bush-hog.

Case IH is where it's at. John Deere in a pinch.
(this has nothing to do with the quality of "garden tractor" they produce.... more of an observation)
I like Kubota even........ but the front tires tend to spin off the rim under extreme load, and the front steering is garbage. They need to be kept in the orchard or yard as well.

I hope the truck lives up to the hype......... they have no name recognition around here. they will need to have one killer product to pitch something that is that uggly as well. In this economy, they may go broke before they ever get to make a name for themselves, if they aren't able to get all of the rangers government contracts.

seems to me that some guys around here dont like their trucks, specific their Rangers
how would u say ur gonna trade the truck u like, the truck u wanted in first place for that?
anyway maybe u got a Ranger cuz it was the only thing available or the only thing your cheap ass could afford
i feel sorry for people not feeling comfortable with the truck they have

if u want to buy one, go ahead its a free world and anyone can make his own decisions. my decision is to keep my old gas thirsty almost 11 years old and even 17 years old developed Ranger. and when this one dies ima get another one just like this one.

your choice seems to be trading your trucks( i think better trucks than mine cuz maybe newer and 4x4, because u think more logically than me, so u buy better than me) for a thing u never drove, u dont even have a clue hows been developed and if it really meets the safety standards a Ranger does. go ahead buy one, but please stop bashing rangers comparing it to any piece of crap that appears around.
that just makes people who really love their Rangers angry.
like i said if u want one go get it, u dont even know if it will pass safety standards and be allowed to sell in the US. just dont bash the ranger and please dont post pics of it around here

thank you very much

Oh no........ RSH the picture needed to be posted, from the description theyve sold us it was actually going to be a sweet small truck, truly fire stolen from the gods of light utility vehicles. alas......... it was not.

you know .... I have been cruising TRS for 10 years. My original login was cyberbronco. for 10 years there have been member pining away for a 4 cyl turbo diesel compact crew cab..... you want Ford to bring one here ...... Buy a Mahindra and show Ford that this segment of the market refuses to be ignored.... oh wait ..... they are dropping the Ranger to kill internal competition to the F150 and the Focus ......... see what Ford thinks of you guys .... you faithfully buy their products and they slap you in the face.

Nowhere did I say that you Have to buy a Mahindra, Nowhere did I say I don't like the Ranger (actually I don't the only RBV I really like is the gen 1 Explorer) .... nor did I say the Mahindra is the end all be all to compact pick ups.... But it is what it is, but for some of us it is exactly what we have been asking for ...... If Ford would package a compact crew cab with a turbo diesel I would buy that..... but they refuse to, use lame excuses like "We can't make that engine emissions legal" or "It doesn't meet the demands of the market" but what they actually mean is it would compete with the Sport Trac and you Americans are to stupid to know what you want to buy so let us dictate it to you ....

you don't like the Mahindra, don't buy one ...... you think its ugly, fine don't buy one. But don't call the Mahindra USA offering a POS until you have actually seen one up close and in person ............ I think they will surprise you.

there is a difference between what they allow on the roads where you live and what is allowed on the roads here (except Michigan, Michigan will allow any old piece of crap on the HWY) ..... but the cab is bigger ...... (the crew cab) and yes you will sit in it more comfortable than in the back of a supercab ranger..... unless the seats suck, thats is always a real possibility with foriegn cars ...... looks like a little more room than a Grand Vitara and you actually can seat for adults, or 2 adults and 3 kids (in care seats) in a Grand Vitara comfortably...... and the planned SUV is about the size of a gen1 Explorer.....
